The Vestry Nominating Committee is seeking names for the 2025-2027 Vestry class. Please provide suggested names to the Senior Warden, Anna Richardson Smithor to any member of the Nominating Committee (Mark Matheny, Margaret Larsen, Frances Goodman, Dan Knight, Anna Richardson Smith, Gary Jones), by November 3, 2024. The Vestry Nominating Committee will propose a four-person slate of Vestry members for affirmation at the Annual Meeting (12/15/24, 915 AM) based on these nominations. Nominees must be active, pledging members of St. Andrew’s On-the-Sound Episcopal Church. The Vestry supports and collaborates with the rector in articulating and implementing the mission and vision of our parish church. The Vestry meets monthly and is responsible for the parish’s finances, as well as for the maintenance and upkeep of our buildings and grounds. Vestry members serve three-year terms; and in the coming year, the Vestry will be responsible for appointing our next rector, with the approval of the bishop.

A vestry is what other churches might call a "Church board." The members of St. Andrew’s vestry are elected by the parish for rotating three-year terms. The vestry includes two wardens and a clerk to assist the Rector in the facilitation of this ministry. The vestry elects a treasurer from among the members of the congregation as well. Together this group of dedicated lay persons support the Church by word and deed, ensure effective organization and planning, and oversee the resources and finances of a parish.
