Outreach

Good Shepherd Ministries

Located at 811 Martin St., GSH provides homeless and jobless persons a place to go for a hot meal, shower, laundry and clean clothes, help with getting a job and if necessary, transitional living. Volunteers are always needed in many areas of this ministry, for example:

Ashley House Veterans Center

Ashley House, 2002 Colwell Ave., provides refuge, food and shelter for homeless veterans; needs drivers (vans provided by the Center) to take vets to various activities (e.g., medical appointments, jobs) each weekday morning.

Jobs Program

(Contact Good Shepherd House) designed to give homeless men and women an opportunity to find employment.

Second Helpings

Food distribution program collects food from various sources such as grocery stores and restaurants and delivers the food to nonprofit organizations that serve food to their guests.

Soup Kitchen

The Good Shepherd House Soup Kitchen serves lunch to approximately 150 people Monday through Saturdays. SAOC team serves on Thursdays. Always need food, especially large canned goods.

Inner City Ministries

Thanks to everyone for your continuing support of this important ministry.  Your contributions from the past few months have helped to provide some warmth to those we serve through food that can be heated and clothing that was included in the holiday packages.  For the month of February, we will be
collecting
peanut butter and jelly for sandwiches.  There are times when we don’t have quite enough hot dogs to go around, so we keep some peanut
butter and jelly sandwiches as back up for those who may arrive a bit late.  If we have some left, we pass them out at the end of the meal so that folks will have something for later that day that is easy to take along.  Please place your contributions in the box
under the table.  Thanks!
