Episcopal Church Women (ECW)

All women of the church are members of the Episcopal Church Women (ECW), whether active or inactive. At any time, there are over 50 active members. All are welcome to participate in meetings and events. We have projects where inactive women participate and support, and all are helpful when called upon.

Our Mission Statement is: We are Episcopal Church Women, committed to one another and called to be witnesses for Christ. Our challenge is to provide a safe place where every woman is free to become the person Christ called her to be. We are called. We are different. We are one body.

The ECW has two large fund raising projects annually. In the fall, we have our Bazaar with great participation throughout the congregation. In the spring, we have a Luncheon/Card Party which is well attended among our own group and other churches. These two projects enable us to meet our annual budget.

Our ministry includes many outreach projects as well as several projects in the church. In 2003, we used our Luncheon/Card Party proceeds to send four Farm-Worker Children to summer camp at Trinity Center.

Our ministry is so blessed with wonderful and caring women. We are dedicated and committed to the missionary and evangelistic work that gives comfort and strength to those that need us.

Parish Life Committee

The Parish Life Committee enriches our common life by planning and staging social events throughout the year. During 2004 they have hosted or will host the Chili Challenge, the Passover Seder, Ice Cream Social to celebrate the end of the Sunday school year, the church picnic, and the Christmas party among others. This is a group which knows how to have a good time, and it is always looking for new members to join in the fun.

Coffee Hour Ministry

Coffee Hour is a very important ministry after the 11:00 AM service and the 7:30 AM service at Lebanon Chapel during the summer months. It’s a good fellowship to visit with church family members, check on one another and reach out to visitors.

Different members are scheduled in 20 teams and serve two Sundays, September through June. The ECW is responsible for all 5th Sundays. Teams are reminded by postcards mailed out a week in advance.

Volunteers take care of the 11:00 AM service July and August and after the 7:30 AM service at Lebanon Chapel from Memorial Day through Labor Day.

Food is furnished by the church and available to set out. Beverages are ready to prepare. Once the people are gone, the team puts away food and tidies up the kitchen.

Capers

This fifty plus age group enjoys monthly get-togethers at parishioners homes with hors d'oeuvres, wine and soft drinks, usually gathering on Sunday at 5:00 PM.

Men's Breakfast

This group meets once a month on Saturday for fellowship and homemade goodies. Participants split into teams to do the cooking on a rotating basis.

Nursery

A well equipped nursery staffed by paid care-givers provides child care for infants to 4 years old on Sunday mornings from 8:30 AM to 12:30 PM and for special evening services. Parent volunteers are also used as needed. Children who have reached their fourth birthday are encouraged to attend the 3A year old Sunday-School class and Children's Fellowship during worship times.

Supper Clubs

Parishioners sign up to share suppers in each others homes. This is a delightful way to get to know fellow members of St. Andrew’s in small groups.

Spiritual Formation Groups For Men and Women

Small groups of men and women interested in growing in their spiritual life meet each week.
