The EYC at St. Andrew's On-the-Sound seeks to create a safe place for young people in the 6th to 12th grades. We are a group that explores the love of Christ through our relationships with one another. Along with fun and fellowship we participate in service within our parish, diocese, local community, and the world. EYC meetings are held weekly on Sunday evenings from 5:00 to 6:30 PM in the Parish Hall (supper is included).
Last Year we worked with the Millennium Development Goals, helping our brother and sisters in Christ from around the world live a better life. This included volunteering at a local soup kitchen, to purchasing pigs, goats, clean water wells for those in need through Episcopal Relief and Development, to our mission trip to Gulfport, Mississippi, to working with Stop Hunger Now to package 10,000 meals that was sent to the hungry in Haiti. Our current theme and concentration is Go Green for God's Creation where we have been educating ourselves and the Parish of St. Andrew's on stewardship of the environment. Our accomplishments this year have been in starting a recycling program at St. Andrew's On-the-Sound.
